REMUERA ARTS & CRAFTS

RENOVATION

This Arts and Crafts house, designed by Gerald E Jones and Arthur J Palmer Architects, was originally built in 1922.
The existing house has a large double-height Inner Hall that connects to a series of smaller rooms. The existing Living, Dining and Kitchen areas are connected but lack overall cohesion and there are currently no outdoor covered areas.
The brief was to provide larger and more open Living areas with a covered outdoor entertaining area to overlook the existing swimming pool, and to improve Bedroom areas.
A new larger Sitting room is repositioned centrally to face the pool, while maintaining connection to new Dining and Kitchen areas.
At first floor level a new north-facing Bedroom 1 suite is also relocated centrally and includes a covered balcony. Other bedrooms are replanned each with separate Ensuites.
A more welcoming front entrance with new detached garaging is shown.
